The idea to show our support for former service personnel who are in need of help and advice, came during an online conversation where everyone involved and some who swear they weren’t even online that night, agreeing to walk the full route. There were some concerned faces the following weekwhen it dawned on people it had been put onto the yearly Camp Shaky calendar.
Moving forward, the Just Giving page has been created and the friends we have all made over the years are about to be informed of the plan. Loads of embarrassing pictures and promotional videos will surely follow.
Some of the Camp Shaky crew have served many years in the services so it’s a cause close to their heart allowing the wider Outdoor community to show their support for those that enable us to sleep safely in our hammocks.
The Cotswold Way offers just over 102 miles (164Km) of one of our magical National Trail running between the city of Bath and the market town of Chipping Campden, with long distance views from the Cotswold escarpment, and journeys through picturesque villages and past famous ancient sites.
These middle aged blokes (at best) are starting at the city of Bath sleeping on or close to the route overnight so they can crack on the following day during March 2016.
We hope you will join us by supporting us by giving as much as you can to the Royal British Legion via our Just Giving page. Click here to donate. To stay up-to-date and see all the pics and videos from the walk, click here.
